1. 1 TECHNICAL DATA SHEET ISO VIT FIBRA FLEX F IXING AND LEVELLING WHITE MORTAR FOR EXTERNAL THERMAL INSULATION SYSTEM S 1. DESCRI PTION ISOVIT FIBRA FLEX is a fibre reinforced f i xing and l evelling mortar formulated from mixed binders, selected aggregates and additions . 2. FIELD OF USE ISOVIT FIBRAFLEX is s pecial ly designed for fixing and l evelling of EPS, XPS panels without film , mineral wool and expanded a g glomera te cork boards in thermal insulation systems on e xterior , on masonry substrate s, cement block, thermal insulation panels and /o r hydraulic base substrate s, such as concrete and renders, as well as wooden substrate s . ISOVIT FIBRAFLEX is suitable for the renova tion of the thermal i n s u la tion of painted or ceramic coated facades, since it allows the fix ing of external insulation systems directly on this type of substrate s with the addition of mechanical fixings – ISOVIT BUCHA . For non - current uses or on particular substrate s, we advise you to contact our Technical - Commercial Services . 3. A P PLICA TION a) Substrate preparation Substrate s should be hardened , free from dust, release agents, loose or u nstable materials, efflorescence, as well as from any type of material which affects normal adhesion conditions . Substrate s should be l evelled , checking with a two - meter ruler that there are no irregularities greater than 1 cm. Otherwise substrate s should be l evelled with REDUR MAX FORCE render . Pre - applied renders should have a "trowelled" texture and a cure of about 28 days, protected from bad weather. For applications on painted substrate s , there should be sufficient ad h e sion to withstand the new coati ng. If the substrate is an old ceramic coating , it must be sturdy and f lat and all pieces must have good ad h e sion to the substrate . If this is not the case, remove the loose parts and l evel the coating. If necessary, wash the substrate with suitable detergents in order to remove accumulated d irt and residues on the surface . b) Mixture preparation ISOVIT FIBRAFLEX should be p repared by mixing 5,5 to 6,5 litre s of clean water ( preferably drinkable ) p e r bag of produ ct , using an electric mixer , until a homogeneous paste is obtained . c) A p plica tion  A dhesion on masonry and uneven substrate s ( unevenness greater than 1 cm p er 2 metre s) Fix the panels laying a string of conti nuo us mortar around the perimeter , a dding at least t hree fix ing points in the middle of it . Provide for mechanical fixing with ISOVIT BUCHA ( recommended minimum – 6 un/m²).  A dhesion on regular render or concrete surfaces S imple continuou s a dhesion should be carried out by using a 10 mm toothed trowel , prefer ably laying the mortar on the back of the panels . Provide for mechanical fixing with ISOVIT BUCHA ( recommended minimum – 6 un/m²).  Fix ing r eco m menda tions Fix ing procedures should ensure surface uniformity, levelling and non - spacing of the panels , without joint openings and ensuring t hat there is no mortar left in between .  L evelling A pply ISOVIT FIBRAFLEX mortar onto the surface of the i nsu la tion panels , conveniently arranged and adherent to the substrate . Ap p l y the first layer with notched trowel and , im mediat ely , embed a glass fibre mesh with c haracteristic s appropriate to the ap plica tion – ISOVIT REDE 160/343 . The second layer should be applied over the first one to give the surfaces the flatness necessary to receive the final finish .

3. 3 TECHNICAL DATA SHEET ISO VIT FIBRA FLEX F IXING AND LEVELLING WHITE MORTAR FOR EXTERNAL THERMAL INSULATION SYSTEM S d) Restri ctions ISOVIT FIBRAFLEX should not be applied at room and substrate temperatures below 5 ºC and above 30 ºC. In case of strong winds, ap plica tion may cause mortar cracking . I n such case, walls should be protected so as to minimize the effects of wind action . e) Complementary Advices Do not use ISOVIT FIBRAFLEX for filling joints between insulation panels . No mortar that has exceeded it s open time should be applied . Do not soften mortars by adding water after preparation . Do not add any other products to the mortar. ISOVIT FIBRAFLEX s hould be applied as it is shown in its original packaging . The mixing water must be free of any impurities (clays, organic matter) and drinking water should be preferably used . Do not apply on horizonta l surfaces or with a tilt of less than 45º. Prote ct the top edges of the coating from rainwater . 5. PACKAGING AND VALIDITY Packaging 25 kg paper bags in plasticized pallets of 6 0 /48 bags . Valid ity 12 months provided the conditions of the original packaging remain unaltered and in good storage conditions, protected from extreme temperature and humidity . 6. HEALTH AND SAFETY (DOES NOT REPLACE CONSULTATION OF THE PRODUCT SAFETY DATA SHEET )  Irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin ;  May cause sensitization in contact with skin ;  Do not breathe dust ;  Avoid contact with skin and eyes ;  If it comes in contact with eyes, rinse immediately and thoroughly with water and seek a specialist advice ;  Use protective clothing and appropriate gloves ;  Keep out of children’s reach .
